Notes:
White arrows show the early Wisconsinan terrace, and in the foreground and middle distance are some of the badland slopes and the pediment level at the base of the badlands that grades to the modern Fremont River level. The issue to be addressed in the simulation model is whether the badlands and pediments resulted from a slow, gradual downcutting of the Fremont River after deposition of the early Wisconsinan terrace, or whether the Fremont River downcut fairly rapidly and has maintained a fairly uniform level during the late Wisconsin and Holocene.
