Notes:
A bedrock channel in flaggy sandstone in the Coast Ranges of Oregon. Although the channel gradient is low, the channel is bedrock floored because floods are strong and the bedrock in the region produces very little gravel on weathering. Most of the sand load is transported in suspension during floods. Bed erosion may occur by a combination of dislodgment of the flaggy sandstone layers and by sediment abrasion.
