MODELING LANDSCAPE EVOLUTION
APPROACHES, ASSUMPTIONS, OPPORTUNITIES, AND UNRESOLVED ISSUES
Notes:
This will be a series of lectures concerning the modeling of landscape evolution, particularly in what is loosely termed the “normal fluvial landscape” in which mass wasting and fluvial erosion dominate.
Before starting the main presentation, I wish to express my gratitude to the IPGP for inviting me here, and, in particular, I wish to thank Francois Metivier for acting as my host here, helping me to find accommodations, sort out all of the paperwork, and providing me the assistance necessary to prepare these lectures.
I wish to apologize for not being able to present this material in French. However, I have added a large number of illustrations which may help in following my presentation.
