Notes:
Some progress has been made in modeling the expected pattern of secondary fracturing that might result from a combination of topographically and tectonically induced stresses, as in this illustration from Miller and Dunne (Miller, D.J., and T. Dunne, 1996, Topographic perturbations of regional stresses and consequent bedrock fracturing, J. Geophys. Res., 101, 25523-25536). However, the feedback of this fracturing into landform evolution models has so far not been attempted.
