Detailed modeling of both erosional and depositional processes in channels and on floodplains will require accurate modeling both of flow, scour, and sediment transport/deposition. This is an example of using 2-D, depth-averaged numerical solution for flow in a bedrock gorge (from Miller, A.J., and Cluer, B.L., 1998, Modeling considerations for simulation of flow in bedrock channels, in Rivers over Rock: Fluvial Processes in Bedrock Channels, Am.
